Kent
provides transition training in the RV-6. As a
seasoned CFI for over 15 years Kent makes all of his
tail wheel and unusual attitude experience available
in a relaxed training environment.
Most Insurance companies require a transition training program be completed before insuring a new pilot in the RV-series of aircraft. The RV-6 is a perfect aircraft to do this training in, it offers the advantage of side-by-side seating for improved communication between student and instructor and it qualifies as a checkout into any of the RV-3 thru RV-10 aircraft.
The transition training course covers topics such as Aircraft systems, performance, emergency procedures and test flying. The flight training covers slow flight and stalls, spin entries, unusual attitude recoveries and pattern work including 3-point and wheel landings. Go arounds and crosswinds technique are covered thoroughly. Additionally an introduction to aerobatics in the RV is available.

Although
basic tail wheel dynamics are covered during the
ground training, Kent recommends that students
without a tail wheel endorsement study one of the
available publications on the subject before starting
training.
For out of town students we will be happy to help arrange local accommodations to facilitate your training with us. For most students, lessons lasting more than 2 hours become less productive, therefore spreading the 5 hours out over more than two days is usually beneficial.
Kent is located about 30 miles south of the Atlanta airport in Locust Grove Georgia. Feel free to contact Kent for more information.
